Hi! My name is Emily Khaykin and I am a Junior Decision Science major at Carnegie Mellon University. This blog began as a way to portfolio my work for a class called Communication Design Fundamentals (CDF), but has now grown into more of a detailed history of important things I’ve learned as I move through my college years.
I originally took CDF because of my interest in getting into Advertising and Public Relations. I like to find out what makes people tick and how to find the most appealing way to do so. Every advertisement out there is simply a very well-designed piece of art. I want to know how the pros do it and why their stuff works so effectively.
My experience in CDF thankfully did not scare me away from my career goals. On the contrary, I found all the information fascinating, and can’t wait to apply it to real-world scenarios.
